So many nice things
We went to a mall in Aomori to get noodles and tofu for another meal cooked in a park and bumped into Mont-bell, an outdoor clothing and gear chain. The friendly staff looked up information about ferries to Hokkaido and even printed out a map so that we'd find the port, and Kaisa felt that this gave her the perfect excuse to buy a replacement for a broken spork and a long-sleeved t-shirt.
The shop also carried the following items Kaisa would've been interested in buying: striped sleeves and leggings, skirts with detachable extra pockets, rain covers for cameras, colorful cycling gloves, cycling pants with wonderfully thick padding, cycling jackets with small reflective stars on them, colorful hiking shoes, camping towels, teapots for the Trangia gas cooker, checkered shirts with long and short sleeves, rainproof pants and jackets and camping mattresses.
But there was no space in our bags for any of the above, and that's why bike travel is so good for Kaisa and her never-ending thirst for nice things.
