Izumi Teishi shrine
We read in the guidebook that this Shinto shrine is about 1000 years old and figured that we didn't need to hear anything else to convince us to visit it.
We've been avoiding the big cities and haven't seen that many tourists here, so it felt a bit strange to suddenly be surrounded by tourist buses and guides. But as this also meant getting a long-awaited hot sweet drink from a certain international cafe chain we weren't going to complain.
And naturally the shrine was extremely impressive, with a beautiful passage leading to the main gate surrounded by trees that looked like they had been standing here for at least as long as the shrine.
