A week in awe
To call it a culture shock makes it sound too negative. Rather it was a collection of overwhelming impressions that took place simultaneously. There was the long travel and the poorly slept night before combined with the inevitable but always as exhausting jet lag. There was the climate that drastically differed from the one we came from. The terrain was different too, to say the least. And then there was the fact that we suddenly were surrounded by a world in which we couldn't read a single letter. Or syllable, in this particular case. (Except for some slightly odd signs in English. But we'll return to that later.)
So those are our excuses for not having updated our blog. On the plus side, we've now cycled over 450 kilometers. Which is to say we now know at least something worth sharing about cycling in Japan.
